Pet Cemetery

Our Pet Cemetery at Monkton, near Canterbury is the only cemetery in Kent for the burial of our beloved animals.

The Pet Cemetery, known as The Thanet Animal Cemetery, was established at this beautifully tranquil, rural setting in 1974 and is home to thousands of our departed cherished pets (and hundreds of live rabbits too!).

Pet Burial Service

On your instruction, we will arrange immediate collection of your pet, either from your home or veterinary practice.

We will arrange a time that suits you to attend the burial (if you wish to attend) and your pet will remain in our care until this time.

As you arrive at the cemetery we will greet you at the gate and take you to the graveside, where your pet will be laid out and you will be given as much time as you wish to say your final farewells.

You can then either leave us to complete the burial, witness the completion, or return after around 30 minutes when the grave will be re-covered (you may wish to leave flowers on the finished grave).

Headstones are available for from Thanet Stone in Monkton (01843 822840) or you are welcome to adorn the headstone area of your plot with your own decoration.

The Cemetery is open all year round and you are welcome to visit without an appointment. Car parking is available on the site.
